As Battery Technology has reported, there is strong momentum occurring regarding the development of zero-emission commercial vehicles, particularly trucks. Most recently, the California Air Resources Board approved the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation, which bans the sale of new diesel trucks by 2036. The ACF states that the proposed regulation would apply to fleets performing drayage operations, those owned by state, local, and federal government agencies, and high-priority fleets.

“The past year has brought a historic amount of investment from the federal government, as well as from private industry” to the electrification of commercial trucks fleets, stated Erik Neandross, chief executive officer of Gladstein, Neandross & Associates in its recent State of Sustainable Fleets 2023 Market Brief. “Across clean fuel types, we’re seeing accelerating momentum and an increasing commitment to low carbon fuels and zero-emission commercial vehicles.”

In recent weeks, numerous EV developers—including Daimler, GreenPower, Mack Trucks,  Hino Trucks, and more—have announced new battery-electric commercial trucks. Click through to see images and details of six of the most interesting of them.
