As electric vehicles (EVs) drive to become the new normal, the marketplace is becoming inundated with different offerings. Whereas ten years ago there were only a handful of companies producing EVs available for the average consumer, in 2023 there were 223 hybrid and electric vehicle manufacturing businesses in the US.

This competitive landscape is fueled by a combination of technological advancements, changing consumer preferences, and stringent environmental regulations pushing for lower emissions. Traditional automotive giants, once hesitant, are now investing billions in EV technology, racing to catch up with pioneering EV companies that have dominated this space. This influx of new models across various segments ensures a wider range of choices for consumers, from luxury to budget-friendly options, thereby expanding the market's reach. Furthermore, advancements in battery technology and charging infrastructure are addressing range anxiety and convenience concerns, making EVs more accessible.

Still, amongst all of the competition, there are a few brands and EV offerings that are really capturing the consumer’s imagination. Recently, car review site REREV compiled data to show which upcoming EVs received the most internet searches.
