There is an old saying in show business that you should give people what they want. For the past decade, when it comes to electric vehicles (EVs), with a couple of minor exceptions, automakers have avoided that advice building small sedans and subcompacts instead of the electric sport utility vehicles (SUVs), crossover utility vehicles (CUVs), and pickup trucks that the public wanted. Fortunately, car companies have begun to see the error in their ways and started producing the kind of EVs that people actually want to own and drive.

Battery Technology recently focused on a number of upcoming electrified pickup trucks that were on their way to the market. Now, let’s look at the latest electric SUVs and CUVs that are available today, and that will be joining the US electrified fleet in the next few years. By giving the people what they want, automakers may finally be on the road to electrification.
